Sigatoka Sand Dunes Walk

The various trails of Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park, Fiji’s first national park, are a spectacular hiking option on the Coral Coast. Standing between 20 and 60 metres tall, these coastal sand dunes were shaped by a millennium of weather elements, such as persistent river erosion, prevailing trade winds and powerful ocean currents. Opt for the quick, one-hour loop to reach the dunes or extend your trip and tackle the three-hour loop to check out additional lookouts and bird-watching spots.

My Fiji hiking tip: Visit in the mid-morning or late afternoon to avoid the Fijian heat, plus be sure to pack lots of sunscreen and water!
